Netherlands earnestly conceives
the intricacy of this major problem facing world today. Both disease and
natural disaster are seriously never-ending issues the world has been facing
for many years, moreover, these highly calamitous issues, without question, are
getting knottier like never before. Rapidly massive alteration of the world in
technological invention and development does not even unravel both issues
straightaway, particularly when the natural disaster causing various types of
diseases consecutively, strike in developing countries. In pursuit of better
understanding among nations regarding both natural disaster prevention and
recovery, Netherlands believes that what we need to take a closer look at the
most is how coutries could cooperate one another in order to create what we
believe as the international integrated system of natural disaster. The
significance of the what so-called integrated system is underpinned by the fact
which depicts the emergence of health problem as the further impact of natural
disaster. By the same token, due to the fact that the world we are living in
now is, without doubt, eminently knotted one another in many aspects of life,
thus one disaster in one space on this planet would straightaway impact upon
the others. In the end, for the sake of better life, the more cooperative way
to encounter both issues should be established among states.
Understanding the significance of
the highly synergetic cooperation, Netherlands has done her best in order to
create better binding relations among European countries through 2008 council
on disaster strategy. Netherlands also actively took roles in EU strategy for
disaster risk reduction in developing countries in 2009. Those actions are not
done without reasons. Netherlands for many years struggled against flooding
since the birth and the issue has been very considerable in Netherlands, that
is why, in response to that, Netherlands attempts to create a closer
relationship among European states to strengthen the European countries
prevention regarding the natural disaster would probably happen in Europe.
Considering the significance of well-built
facilities in attempt to run effective natural disaster prevention and
discovery, Netherlands is standing in her stance regarding the international
integrated system of natural disaster. With all due respect, in response to
that mechanism, Netherlands proposes two
centres of gravity regarding what facets we got to take a closer look at in
attempt to minimize the aftermath of disease following natural disaster, which
entail:
1. Regarding the issue of disease
surveillance, Netherlands proposes an idea of creating an international standard drugstore for disaster victim which will be
established by UN regarding
what drugs the victims of natural disaster really need the most in general. The drugstore, by then, could be used as the distributor
by other countries whenever they send their help. This regulation would be the most effective mean in attempt to make any foreign help to the victim country become more effective;
2. In response to disaster
preparations and strategies, Netherlands insists on the establishment of disaster preparation post that will be built in the area having big
possibility of getting striked by natural disaster. The post is managed by the regional organization that country belong to (ASEAN, EU, African
Union, etc) under the scrutiny of UN and will be run by the proffesional knowing well how to
deal with disaster preparation. The post and its staffs are free of political interference;
At the end of the day,
Netherlands would be open to take roles in attempt to find the best solution of
this problem.
